Botanical Information: It is a perennial herbaceous plant from the Primrose family, with flat and rounded tubers underground. Its leaves are long-stemmed, heart-shaped, and have light colored spots. Its flowers have long stems. Its color is pink or purplish pink. It has a light scent. Its fruit is in capsule form. Its root is called Buckthorn root (Ramnus chlorophorus globosus).
Known Composition: It contains a glycoside with gum, pectin, sugar and saponin characteristics in its underground part.
