Botanical Information: It is a compound family. Ragweed has a brownish-brown stem, 70-150 cm tall, with a structure whose lower part rarely forks and its upper part quite frequently. Its leaves are elliptical or lance-shaped, with notched edges, a deep vein in the middle, dark green in color, 15-30 cm long, 7-12 cm wide, with short stems and arranged in variable order. The flowers are 20-50 at the top of the plant, looking like an umbrella from behind. Each flower has 3-5 golden yellow and tongue-shaped petals, 5-15 tubular brown navel leaves in the middle and a bell-shaped cup leaf surrounding them.
Known Composition: Its fruits contain essential oil, tannin, resin and inulin. In its roots; There are two alkaloids called “Senecin” and “Senecionin”.
Collection: From July to September, the bunch is made by cutting it 5-10 cm above the ground. It is dried in an open, cool and sunny place and stored in a moisture-free place.
